By purchasing the ticket, you (“Ticket Holder”) agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions of sale specified below by Enigmatology. Tickets are sold subject to the following conditions:

1: General

1.1. Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to affect your statutory rights.

1.2. The game is designed for a team of 2-6 people per room.

1.3 The trade marks and logos displayed on the website are the property of the company. You are not permitted to use these without a written consent of the company and you accept that any such use may constitute an infringement of the relevant proprietor’s rights.

1.4. These terms and conditions and any contract concluded incorporating these terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

1.5. The website may contain hyperlinks to third party websites. The operation of those websites is outside of the company’s control and you use these at your own risk. The company accepts no liability for any damage arising out of use of these links.

1.6. The company collects and stores your personal details without disclosing it to any 3rd party and is dedicated to ensure that the privacy of your personal information is protected in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

1.7. Due to the nature of the game no recordings or photographic equipment can be taken inside the room. This includes (without limitation) the use of mobile phones, recording devices (video and/or audio) and cameras. The use of such a device in the room is not permitted at any time.

1.8. The company expects visitors not to disclose any details of the game directly or indirectly to the public.

1.9. The company may contact you from time to time with offers and promotions via email or phone. If you wish to unsubscribe, please send an email to info@enigmatology.co.uk and we will take your details off our database.

1.10. The company is entitled to charge the guests for any damage which is intentional and/or caused by misuse of items.

1.11. While your are on our premises, you must ensure to conform to our codes and regulations, adopt proper standards of behaviour, and cooperate with our employees.

1.12. The company does not and will not tolerate any kind of bullying or harassment towards its employees.

1.13. Enigmatology accepts no responsibility for any personal property whilst at the venue.

1.14. Whilst participating in the game all players are required to adhere to the rules given to them by the games hosts. Failure to comply with the rules will result in the cessation of the game and the removal of the offending player. No refunds will be given.

1.15. Participants with disabilities or those assisting disabled players should inform Enigmatology before their visit, where possible efforts will be made to modify the game as appropriate. Participants should note that Enigmatology is situated on the first and second floors of a building and due to the age of the building does not have lift access.

1.16 The owners of Enigmatology or employees shall not be liable for any death, personal injury, loss, damage however caused while in the venue, nor are they liable for any complaints, claims, refunds, or exchange for any reason, including without limitation, cancellation or postponement of a booking at Enigmatology. Any refunds shall be made only at Enigmatology’s management’s discretion.

1.17. Enigmatology reserves the right to alter or amend the terms of participation without reason or prior notification.

1.18. It is the responsibility of the individual making the booking to ensure all participants in the group are aware of these Terms and Conditions. It is not the responsibility of Enigmatology. Terms and Conditions apply to ALL booking at Enigmatology regardless of booking method.

1.19. Enigmatology reserves the right to change the operating hours at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances.

1.20. The individual making the booking agrees (on behalf of the entire party) and understands that their is inherent risk in attending any event, including those run by Enigmatology. As such, the indivdual who makes the booking voluntarily assumes all risks and dangers associated with participation. In consideration and acceptance of entrance, the individual who makes the booking agrees to release Enigmatology , its parent corporations, employees, affiliates, directors and landlord from any liability, harm, injury or death, cost or expense whatsoever that may arise directly or indirectly from booking at Enigmatology.

2: Bookings

2.1. Only person(s) who are 18 years of age or over are permitted to book a Game.

2.2. All payments must be made in full before the event. Failure to pay will mean that no team member will be allowed to attend and play.

2.3 This is a live event game, once the booking is confirmed, we can not accept any cancellations, reschedules or give any refunds.

2.4. Any purchase on the website is only valid when processed and accepted by the company. You will receive a confirmation e-mail once your booking is processed.

2.6. You are responsible for entering your details correctly on the online booking form on the website.

2.7. A booking becomes a no-show and entry will be declined if the team is 15 minutes late or more from the booked starting time . In such a situation any payment is not refundable and the booking is considered cancelled.

2.8. Teams are required to show up at  the booked time, and not prior to the allotted time slot.

2.9. If the team arrives less than 10 minutes before the booked starting time, depending on availability the 60 minutes to solve the puzzles will be decreased.

2.10. Bookings are non transferable for any reason once booked.

2.11. Bookings are non refundable for any reason and mistakes cannot be rectified.

2.12. The booking remains the property of Enigmatology and can be revoked at any time for any reason. The booking cannot be resold.

2.13. The management cannot be held responsible for any bookings which have been lost or stolen. Enigmatology reserves the right to cancel bookings which it reasonably assumes to be fraudulent.

2.14. Once a booking is accepted it cannot be refunded or cancelled, although reasonable efforts to reschedule a booking will be made if Enigmatology is notified 5 days before the event.

2.15. Whilst Enigmatology will make reasonable endeavours to notify a team of a reason for cancellation this is not guaranteed. It is the responsibility of the person making the booking to ascertain as to whether or not their booking has been cancelled or rearranged.

3. Price and payment

3.1. The price of a game is stated on the website under the booking section.

3.2. The price is set according to group size (up to maximum 6 persons).

3.3. The online payments can be made by: Stripe credit card facility

3.4. Bookings can be made online or by telephone. Bookings made by telephone must be followed by online payment.

3.5. Full payment is required at the time of booking, failure to pay will mean no team member is permitted to attend and play.

3.6. Only one type of discount or offer can be used with a single booking.

3.7 If any offer is deemed misused then the offer applied to your order will be removed and payment of balance will be due. Failure to pay the balance may result in booking cancellation.

4. Safety

4.1. Each attendee will be instructed before their event by one of the employees of the company. After learning the rules of the event, each attendee will participate in the event at their own risk. Enigmatology is not liable for any (personal or equipment) damages caused by not following the rules described before the event. Each player will sign a statement agreeing to the Terms and Conditions of the Game before entering the escape room.

4.2. People under influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused admission. Any guests deemed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will forfeit the booking and will not receive a refund.

4.3. Drinks and food may not be brought into the event and into the room unless otherwise specified.

4.4. To be admitted you must confirm the full name of the booker and might be asked to confirm phone number and email address the booking confirmation was sent to.

4.5. Children aged under 16 must be accompanied by at least 1 adult per event who must remain in the room with them. Due to the complexity of the puzzles the minimum recommended age is 10.

4.6. No physical exertion is required for the games although it is the players responsibility to ensure that they are fit to play.

4.7. Enigmatology reserves the right to refuse admission of those deemed liable to disrupt the enjoyment of the other players. Participants using abusive language or behaving in a threatening manner towards other guests or members of staff will be refused admission. Participants refusing to conform to written or verbal instructions or behave in a manner which may risk the health and safety of themselves, visitors or members of staff will be refused entry. Enigmatology reserves the right to remove the whole group from the session and no refunds will be permitted.

4.8. The breaking of any of the game rules will forfeit the game for the whole team and no refund will be issued.

4.9 The rules given by the game hosts must be adhered to at all times.

4.10. Use of excessive force is not permitted and breakages must be paid for.

4.11. At no point should any player remove any item from the premises.


5. Photos And Comments

5.1 Photos of each team will be taken during and at the end of the game.

5.2. Photos may be uploaded to social media sites without names.

5.3. Attendees may comment on the experience on social media. The company has the right to moderate all comments that are not appropriate.

5.4. The Company does not have to explain why comments were refused or deleted. It has full authority over any comments.
